Allow us to present to you the wonderful chance of serving as a youth delegate to The Youth Assembly, an endeavour started in 2002 by the non-governmental organisation Friendship Ambassador Foundation, which is officially connected to the United Nations Department of Global Communications.

The Assembly, which brings together the brightest, most creative, and most involved young leaders to discuss cross-cutting problems and solutions for sustainable development in the social, economic, and environmental dimensions, has been held twice a year at the UN headquarters in New York City for a long time.

The nation's capital, Washington, D.C., will serve as the new host city for The Youth Assembly's 24th Session this year. The Youth Assembly's distinctive platform is intended to promote communication and collaboration between outstanding young people, the business community, civil society, and the global community.

Candidates who are older than this can apply as observers, however the typical age range for Delegate applications is 16 to 28. Since the young Assembly is open to people of all nationalities, it is very competitive and demands a track record of demonstrated leadership, involvement in the community or at school, and an interest in global concerns, sustainable development, and young issues.

Typically, the three to eight-day Assembly consists of field trips to national institutions and organisations, skill-building workshops, social initiative competitions, post-event mentorship, and thematic discussions.

Travel, lodging, and meals are not included in the $220 conference alone package. Nonetheless, there are some packages that do include lodging at three-star hotels and access to certain private events. In any event, the applicant is responsible for covering the cost of the visa and the travel. The conference organisers offer a Facebook page for all participants, where you can locate a roommate to share a hotel or Airbnb after registering and being approved as a delegate. You will also receive an official invitation from the foundation.

The Impact Challenge is open only to young leaders and changemakers who are passionate about social innovation and working in their communities. Those of you with creative ideas for impact-oriented projects should apply. In addition to receiving mentorship in social entrepreneurship and prominent placement on FAF's global platforms, the winners will also get initial financing to carry out their initiatives.

One programme that attempts to build a network of young people from various origins and with the ability to change the world is the Youth Assembly. After performing very well at The Youth Assembly, you will go back to your native country as a Delegate to start or carry out activity on the ground. Participating in youth-focused events such as The Youth Assembly is an investment in oneself.

Investing in yourself means taking a day off your comfort zone to hone your skills. It is recognising your value, your ability to improve, and the fact that you still have a lot to learn. There are just a few spaces available for the 24th Session of The Youth Assembly, so applications must be submitted by the end of July. Check out the official website for more information.
